Jolly Jane: Snowed in!

It was a gloomy, cold day in September and the clocks were striking thirteen in the afternoon. ' DONG! DONG!' A thick carpet of white snow covered the streets and lamp posts of  Narnia. Almost the whole city was buried in snow. Only a few shops were open and the people were locked up in their homes. Autumn has just passed and almost all the trees had lost their leaves and the evergreens just stood up, taller than ever.
Jolly Jane climbed down the stairs dejectedly. She had been locked up in her boring, old  home for almost a week due to the harsh weather outside. She wanted to hang out with her friends, have a sleepover, or go to the mall. “Snow, Snow go away. Never come another day.Jolly Jane wants to play. Snow Snow go away”, she would sing everyday in a singsong voice. She really was bored. One day,Jolly Jane's mother, Mrs. Jane, went to shop supplies for a month as the news reporter had said that the clouds were turning inkish black and that Narnia would be in a sea of ice in a few days.

Jolly Jane had wanted to go... “Mommm!!! pleaseee. I just hate to be in this creaky place where the whole apartment seem to fall apart at any moment”Jane moaned. But ah ah... No way it worked. 'Mothers have a different brain' as she thought.

After an hour or so, Jane was too bored and restless. This is too much. It has crossed the limit.“That's it! One more second in this creaky place, and I am dead. I am out of here” cried Jane. She ran out of her messy bedroom, jumped down the stairs and reached for the door knob and... stopped dead. The door wasn't opening. She tried pulling it again. Still it wouldn't budge. It must be locked from outside. JOLLY JANE WAS SNOWED IN!!!

Jane scurried to the phone and called her mom. But oh man... she wouldn't pick up.Probably she would have just slipped to the mall and be looking at the latest fashions. But it wasn't like her. This seemed unusual. Jane ran to the window only to  see the window painted white. She opened the window and peeped outside as a gust of cold air entered the room. Suddenly, she stopped dead in her tracks. The telephone and TV lines were down. “What else could go wrong today?” She asked herself angrily.

At an instant she had an idea... She ran to the switch box that had underground lines. Her mom had talked to her about it just a few days before. She was surethe underground lines wouldn't be damaged. She quickly connected the telephonewire to it and tried calling again. And TADA!!! it worked. She called her mother. Her mother answered her in a worried voice.“Dear don't worry. I am at Mrs. Wicket's house and I think it would be impossible for me to come home without applying this plan”.

“Mmm Hmm”replied Jane.

“Look. Mrs.Wicket's yard is not filled with snow and I bet even our yard is not filled.Ours even has a garden shed with a long shelter. Open the main shelter door and the garden shed door which is connected to our home. I know you're strong. So please take out the rake and pave a path for me to come. Also, open the fence door that leads to our neighbor's home. Replace the tools and if you are hungry, help yourself to some hot cocoa”.

“Ok. Mom,the front door is~” said Jane, but the next minute she was listening to a dial tone. She quickly did as her mom said and helped herself to some hot cocoa and made her mom some bread toast. Within minutes, she heard a steel door shut and a bang of a plywood door. She ran as fast as her feet could carry her and saw her mom, as white as ice standing wearing only a thin red shirt and padded jeans.

“Oh, for goodness sake!” exclaimed Jane.

She quickly helped her frozen mother to the sofa and turned on the heater. She ran into the kitchen to grab a mug of cocoa and gave it to her mother. She ran to her mom's closet and picked out the best sweaters in it. She even picked out some woolen hats and socks. You could see she was practically TERRIFIED!
After all the commotion, her mom was finally, for christ's sake she was ok. Her mom praised her for all she had done and especially hugged (I repeat, HUGGED) her for her idea of the underground lines. And all was back to normal. Narnia was finally free from the clutches of the snow clouds and all was fun again.
May the sun always live and reign. May the snow always wither.

A million years ago...

A million years ago,
fierce dinosaurs prevailed.
Walking here and there, some also sailed
And what did they eat?
Yes, Plants, Animals and meat.
Using strips and using spots,
Escaping predators, birds and dogs.
Tragedy arrived a long long time ago,
climate changed, no plants to eat.
They all became extinct.
This is the story which happened a million years ago.
Passed  down by generations through autumn, winter and snow.

Camping out from Feb to May!

On the darkest night of February,
Twinkling stars adorned the sky.
Camping down on the lane of Burie,
Munching on blueberry pie.

As I sat by the fire,
I saw a shadow cross.
I didn't know my friend was a lier,
but she had followed me all across.

We sat in the tent,
and played a game,
when another friend, Kent,
by that path, she came.

While we sang,
a monster jumped.
It gave a bang,
that made by sweat pump.

The sun peeped out,
we talked all day,
soon we were worn out,
at the end of May.

Dazzling Deers

Leaping through the forest,
grazing green grass.
Loving, lovely and leapy,
shining like gold, brass.

Eyes like diamonds
which are sold at Raymond's.
Wearing a coat of bark brown,
that blends well with soil ground.

Yes, that's the deer,
always, always, queer.
C'mon let's cheer,
for the golden deer.

Thin, strong legs,
that are good in running
but isn't it awful that it is not cunning?
